Greentech Gold Award for Escorts KMC
The Escorts Knowledge Management Center, the company’s independent research and development unit, has won the Greentech Gold Environment Award 2012 in the R&D category. Greentech Foundation is an international non-profit organisation committed to recognize and celebrate ethos of outstanding performance in environment and safety issues.
Escorts has won this award for the second year in a row, amidst intense competition from more than 400 automobile R&Ds across the country. Our KMC has been lauded for its comprehensive efforts in creating environment-friendly engineering designs and other measures.
Escorts KMC is approved by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, since 1978 and is recognized up to March, 2016. In the last three years, the KMC has filed more than 54 patents. It has also been certificated for OHSAS-18001:2007 Health & Safety Management System in 2012.
CFMTTI, Budni, an enterprise of government of India, has certified the newly-launched Escorts Powertrac 425 Tractor as the most fuel efficient tractor designed in 25 HP category of tractors in India and meeting latest BT 3A emission norms. Average usage of such tractors is about 1000 hours per annum, which means approx. 500 liters of lower diesel consumption over other models, thereby causing lower emissions.
Escorts has also taken a lead in reshaping future Emission Norms in India upto 2020-21 in the best interest of the Indian farming community. Our recommendations in this regard have been acknowledged and supported by all major tractor manufacturers at the TMA meeting in August this year.
