EAM wins Greentech Gold Safety Award for second consecutive year

Escorts Agri Machinery has bagged the “11th Annual Greentech Safety Award – 2012” Gold category in the Engineering Sector consecutively for two years. This award is given for the company’s achievements in safety management. The award ceremony was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, on July, 12, 2012. Mr. A.K. Srivastava, Head – Environment, Health & Safety, Escorts Group, was present on the occasion to receive the award.

Greentech Safety Awards are organized by Greentech Foundation to recognise excellence in fire and safety management. They also focus on the duties, responsibilities and concern to save workplaces from accidents and damage with the help of preventive and protective measures for raising productivity. Moreover, they also work on the implementation of strategies for improvement in fire, safety and security standards and thereafter give global recognition to the companies, organisations, units and individuals for their outstanding contribution.

The award was given to Escorts Agri Machinery based on the following key safety achievements:

  • Accredited with International Certifications – ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007
  • 65 percent reduction in overall incidence (34Vs/12 in 2011, 12Vs/4 in 2012)
  • Year 2011 is a reportable accident-free year
  • Changes in safety culture: senior management visibility and commitment towards safety
  • Developing employee participation and involvement by conducting various safety promotional activities all though the year
  • Implemented contractor safety management to streamline contractor safety
  • Regular safety audits and inspections
  • Organised various safety training programs starting from the top management to the contractual workforce
  • 100-percent safety induction for all newly-recruited employees and contractor workmen
  • Organised various medical check-ups/camps/awareness programmes on heart, eye, health, etc. for employees and contractual employees
  • Hazard identification, Risk Assessment & Control study for all safety critical processes
  • No reportable fire incident since November, 2011
  • Emergency planning, preparedness and response plan and regular mock drills
